Lee’Shae Lawson is the current Communications & Artistic Producing intern. She holds a B.A. in African and African American Studies from Stanford University. While in undergrad, she served in various roles in theater leadership, including reinstituting BLACKstage, a Black theater organization founded by Issa Rae and Tracy Oliver, after pandemic dormancy. She was also an Honors Thesis Fellow at the Institute for Diversity in the Arts and worked as a student curator for Stanford’s Archaeology department, curating for both physical and online exhibitions. As a photographer, writer, and theatermaker, Lee’Shae’s artistic practice works toward combating the dehumanization of marginalized groups, emphasizing how we are all connected within the human experience. She hopes to continue working in the nonprofit and arts and culture space to support operations, amplify efforts by Black creatives - historical and current, and encourage community engagement in arts and culture for all people.
