DESCRIPTION

Created in partnership with the Amica Center for Immigrant Rights, this video was created to help the general public understand how the Trump administration cut off bipartisan, Congressionally mandated funding that ensures that the kids who arrive in our country by themselves have the legal support they need. For decades, child advocates have met with unaccompanied children in shelters to build trust with them, hear their stories, and keep them safe. Now the government wants kids, some as young as toddlers, to meet with their attorneys only over a video call. The video supports the federal lawsuit CLSEPA v. HHS which seeks to restore the rights that these children are entitled to under U.S. law, despite the efforts of the administration to strip them away—dramatically increasing the likelihood that they would be sent back to the very danger they had fled.
