Sujata Thomas is a Peabody and Emmy-nominated producer with extensive experience at the intersection of news, politics, and culture. As a Producer on the board of Waterwell, she contributes expertise in editorial strategy, guest curation, and multimedia storytelling to support the company’s mission of civically engaged theater.
Sujata has led booking and production for top platforms including CNN’s Fareed Zakaria GPS, MSNBC’s The Mehdi Hasan Show, LinkedIn’s Catalyst series, and The Economist Asks podcast. Her work is recognized for securing headline-making interviews with figures such as the Dalai Lama, Iranian President Ahmadinejad, Bono, Kara Swisher, and Bill Gates. She is known for shaping sharp editorial narratives, producing across video and audio, and leading high-performing teams in fast-turnaround environments.
Sujata’s international experience includes leading cross-cultural production teams in Israel, Europe, and the US, and developing global content strategies for both established media and startups. She holds a Master’s in Foreign Policy from Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s in Politics from Mount Holyoke College.
