Kimya Zahedi is an immigration attorney at Covey Law, a boutique immigration law firm in New York City, where she specializes in counseling clients on U.S. inbound artist mobility. Primarily focusing on performing arts visas, her clients range from individual performers and ensembles to large-scale productions. Kimya has been practicing immigration law since 2022, initially with a focus on corporate clients in the science and technology services sectors, along with family-based immigration matters.

Kimya holds a B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College, an M.A. in International Relations and International Economics from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), and a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where she was a Professionalism Fellow, Crowley Scholar, and Editor of the International Law Journal. Kimya is co-author of, “Anti-Carceral Human Rights Advocacy,” which was published in the University of Pennsylvania Journal of Law and Social Change.

Kimya is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the Iranian American Women's Foundation. She is active within the Iranian-American and performing arts communities in New York City.
