Executive Director, Creative Arts Team, CUNY

Jeanne Houck is the Executive Director of the Creative Arts Team at the City University of New York, a nonprofit that uses theatre as a catalyst to activate social and academic skills, foster creativity, and support young people as they critically engage with the world.

In 2017, while Director of Foundation Relations at the Intrepid Museum, Jeanne served as an associate producer for Waterwell's Blueprint Specials, a WWII-era musical revived for the Public Theater’s Under the Radar Festival.

She holds a Ph.D. in History from NYU and has taught at The New School and Pratt Institute. Jeanne was Executive Director of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade Archives, preserving the history of Americans in the Spanish Civil War. She also served as an executive producer of two documentaries: Miss America and No Job for a Woman: The Women Who Fought to Report WWII.

A longtime advocate for arts and education for civic dialogue, Jeanne has served on Waterwell’s board since her daughter attended the PPAS Drama program.
